International Award for Costa Nostrum at the MEDITERRANEAN HERITAGE OF HUMANITY Contest
The award ceremony of the competition MEDITERRANEAN HERITAGE OF HUMANITY took place in Alghero – Italy on Saturday May 4 2019. Costa Nostrum won the 1st prize in the category of SUSTAINABLE RECOVERY AND RENEWABLE PROGRAMS.
The mission of the Award is to research, promote and reward the best projects aimed at the protection and enhancement of the great and extraordinary historical, archaeological, landscape, environmental, artistic and cultural heritage of the Mediterranean. Projects that involve sustainable sciences and technologies for the development of sea economies, that lay the foundations for a cultural, sustainable and experiential tourism, projects that involve the social sphere of communities and territories, towards a future of innovation, revitalization and prosperity in full respect of human and environmental resources.
Costa Nostrum's Founder and Managing Director, Mr. Vasilis Zisimopoulos, was attended the award ceremony and had the opportunity to inform the participants about the Costa Nostrum project and the results of its implementation in the 11 certified beaches.
Moreover, the Ambassadors of Egypt, Albania and Croatia, the representatives of the Chambers and Organizations of Italy, the Mayor of Alghero, as well as, a large number of people, mainly from the tourism sector were attended at the ceremony.
